Strategic Hospitality to Close Paradise Park, Reopen Under New Concept

In 2007, Strategic Hospitality — the restaurant group headed by brothers Ben and Max Goldberg that's behind standout Nashville establishments like Bastion, The Catbird Seat and Pinewood Social, among others — opened Paradise Park on Lower Broad. The building that houses Paradise Park at 411 Broadway has also long been home to rooftop event space Aerial (another Strategic concept) and dueling-pianos bar The Big Bang (not a Strategic concept). The Goldbergs' company purchased the 42,000-square-foot downtown building from longtime owners Tower Investments last summer.

News comes our way today that Strategic Hospitality will soon close Paradise Park and 411 Broadway's other businesses, with plans to reopen in 2019 under a new concept. According to a release, the building will undergo a yearlong remodel "in which the restaurant group will open one cohesive concept across all three floors and the rooftop." Details regarding the new concept are scant, but the remodeling is slated to begin in mid to late July. No word on where The Big Bang will move.

So. When it comes to new concepts for a familiar old part of town, Maren Morris has a pretty good idea. The rising country star recently tweeted: "There are so many dude artists opening bars downtown. When I’m rich, I’m seriously opening one called My Church." Morris went on to say that her establishment will be situated on Church Street, so it doesn't sound like she's partnering up with Strategic Hospitality.

Back in March, when news broke that Jason Aldean's name will be affixed to a forthcoming Lower Broad establishment, some of my fellow Scene staffers and I daydreamed about which women of country could/should open downtown establishments. Some names were batted around, including “The Judds’ Suds,” “The Mandrell Well," "Miranda’s Veranda," “Martina McBrews,” “Tammy & Loretta’s” and “Rosanne’s Cash-Only Bar,” among others.

Of course, the Goldbergs have achieved success with all kinds of restaurant concepts. So even if they don't partner with a famed country singer (and let me be clear: there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that they will), odds are pretty good they'll come up with something unique.
