R&B and funk legends Earth, Wind & Fire will appear Tuesday evening at FirstBank Amphitheater in Franklin. Founded in 1969 by the late Maurice White, who died in 2016, the group scored eight No. 1 hits and has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, making them one of the bestselling artists of all time. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000, EWF has released 23 albums, eight of which went double platinum, and has won nine Grammys, including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. Although the group’s lineup has changed considerably over the years, the current roster features three members from the group’s heyday in the 1970s — bassist Verdine White, vocalist-percussionist Philip Bailey and drummer Ralph Johnson. They are joined by lead guitarist Morris O’Connor, rhythm guitarist Serg Dimitrijevic, keyboardist Myron McKinley, drummer John Paris and vocalists-percussionists B. David Whitworth and Philip Doron Bailey, who is Philip Bailey’s son. As you might expect, their current shows are heavy on their hits, including “Shining Star,” “That’s the Way of the World,” “Sing a Song,” “Serpentine Fire,” “Got to Get You Into My Life,” “September,” “Let’s Groove” and “System of Survival.”

7 p.m. at FirstBank Amphitheater
