On his 25th solo album Elevator, Adrian Belew once again waves to us from somewhere out on rock’s remaining frontier. Long recognized as one of the most innovative musicians in rock history, he continues to successfully balance the otherworldly and the familiar on the album’s 12 tracks. As he has with most of his solo releases, Belew wrote, arranged, played and sang every part on the album, which finds him on the move both physically and mentally as he emerges from his COVID cocoon.
