The year 2020 was always going to be a lot, if only because of the presidential election. But when the coronavirus pandemic came, it was the story that consumed all stories. The COVID-19 beat has creeped into all others now. But it crash-landed right on the desks of local health care reporters, who have been tasked with covering a historic story that is at once breaking news and a long-term crisis requiring data mining, in-depth reporting and stamina.
