The Wilder shop in Germantown is only a couple years old, but its owners have already branched out with this second location, which displays the perfect mix of seriousness and levity. With a name inspired by co-owner Ivy Elrod’s musical background, Etudes is designed to host a series of studies — when the doors to the Edgehill Village shop opened earlier this year, the entire inventory was based on the theme of green. There were sustainable goods, products that are the color green and fragrances with a green scent note. The next study is about presence, and will include performance art, collaborations with local artists and a ton of fragrance. LAURA HUTSON
