Best New Kids’ Store

It’s no fun to shop for baby clothes on the internet, where you can’t truly appreciate how sweet and wee everything is, which is why we need shops like Arcade, the baby and kids store in Hillsboro Village. Shelves are lined with a stunning assortment of the kinds of whimsical wood toys and handsewn stuffed animals that parents-to-be dream of filling their nurseries with, before the unpredictable and wiggly storm of poop and barf arrives to make a mess of everything nice they’ve ever owned. Some of the gifts can be quite pricey — that tiny wool popcorn sweater from Misha and Puff is delightful, but $128?!? — but even if the budget’s too tight to splurge on much more than a $5 temporary tattoo, it’s still fun to peruse the well-curated selection of adorable items.
