If you’re a local, you know June in Nashville means you’re doing three things: dealing with festival traffic, applying bug spray and writing YASNI entries. That’s right — the Scene’s long-running You Are So Nashville If … season is back, and we’re once again asking you to finish the sentence. Here's the submission link.

You have until June 22 to tell us what it really means to be “So Nashville.” And since it’s one of our most widely read issues of the year, you’ll also tell thousands of Nashvillians just what you think of them. Be frank. Be clever! But whatever you do, don’t be boring. That means no cowboy boots, no “we’re more than just country music,” and no other tired clichés. If we Scene staffers have to read another submission about how everyone actually just moved here from California, we’ll scream.

Need some inspo? Look through old winning entries, like last year’s from Allison Damratoski: “You’re on track to have more football stadiums than Super Bowl appearances.” Simple, cutting, timely. That’s the magic mix.

Fill out our submission form — it’s at nashvillescene.com/yasni — and we’ll take it from there. Look for your name in the issue, which drops on July 16.
