The wrestler who invented the head-smashing maneuver known as the DDT (Drop Dead Twice) meets the twisted ringmaster who seems to have inhaled DDT. Though Jake Roberts may have faked a few moves during his World Wrestling Federation days, there's nothing contrived about his tormented soul. “My mother was 13 years old when I was born,” he says in the wrestling documentary Beyond the Mat. “Why? Because my dad raped a little girl that was in a room asleep. My dad was going out with my mother's mother.” The sideshow nightmare known as the Jim Rose Circus gained its unsavory reputation in the late ’90s, touring with Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson (who looked like Eagle Scouts in comparison) and later providing Homer Simpson the opportunity to become the Human Cannonball. Combined with scantily clad women, brutal stunts and deviant humor, this promises to make Straight Dave's Man-Slamming Maxout look like a tea party. In the words of the press release, “...Not since Christians were fed to the lions has their been a show this funny.”
