Jon Langford and Jim Sherraden: In Collaboration
When: Through Nov. 8
Where: Hatch Show Print's Haley Gallery
Welsh rocker Jon Langford is awesome, if only for his 38-year membership in the seminal punk rock art collective cult The Mekons. But add in his various musical side projects and his work as an illustrator and painter, and you’ve got a résumé that dazzles in both length and variety. And with this opening reception for an exhibit of Langford’s paintings, which will debut a limited-edition monoprint based on the lyrics of “Girl From the North Country” by Bob Dylan — designed, cut and printed by Langford and Hatch master printer Jim Sherraden — you can add woodblock printmaker to Langford’s illustrious list.
It’s all a tie-in to Langford’s gorgeous artwork and design currently on display in Dylan, Cash and the Nashville Cats: A New Music City at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
