The long-awaited DVD release of Husky Jackal's Terminator the Second is verily upon us. For those who missed the October 2011 performances, the play repurposed complete lines and phrases from the Shakespeare canon to tell the story of Terminator Two: Judgment Day. Scene editor Jim Ridley gave it the gold standard of critical reviews: He compared it to Springsteen. "It deserved the eruptive Springsteen-at-the-Bottom-Line ovations it got," he said, "not just for the ingenious staging (that truck vs. motorcycle chase!), but for a script that's a riotous antidote to student grousing about Shakespeare."
A DVD of the performance has been in the works ever since, and over the weekend details of its release were announced: A sneak preview of Terminator the Second will be held at The Belcourt on Oct. 22, and an official release show has been scheduled at the Mercy Lounge for Nov. 1, followed by a performance by The Protomen.
