Alan LeQuire originally opened his gallery to shine a spotlight on his work and the work of other painters and sculptors who were interested in expressing their creativity through studying the human form. Although this strictly figurative point-of-view has flown in the face of contemporary art-world trends, LeQuire, his artists, and his audiences continue to demonstrate that there is something to his convictions. The Gallery's new show, New Approaches to Figurative Art, strives to honor LeQuire's mission, while simultaneously demonstrating what happens when artists push the boundaries of these traditional subjects. One of the highlights of the exhibit will be the work of gallery favorite, painter, Juliette Aristides, whose charcoal drawings will also be on display.
