What’s better than a summertime field day? A summertime field day that benefits Planned Parenthood — and provides ample opportunities to quote early-Aughts comedy classic Wet Hot American Summer! The Wet Hot Tennessee Summer Field Day (OK, technically it’s late spring) is family-friendly, and kids under 17 get in free. Plus there will be prizes for the winners — perhaps a can of corn? A stick of gum? A flannel tucked inside a tiny, tiny box? Field day activities will include sack racing, Solo cup stacking, water balloon tossing, cornhole, Frisbee, horseshoes, a scavenger hunt and more. Ticket prices start at $35, there’s a free Retro Sno cone with admission, and proceeds go straight to the Tennessee Advocates for Planned Parenthood. Participation is open at no additional cost — so bring lots of movement clothes, aka jazz shoes, dance belts, Lycras, etc. And please, leave your bullshit attitude and baggage at the door because we don’t need it. More information is available at weareplannedparenthoodaction.org/a/wet-hot. 3-6 p.m. at Shelby Park in East Nashville LAURA HUTSON HUNTER
