Join or Sponsor the Music City Live Golf Invitational to Benefit Local Venues

We all know that independent music venues are the lifeblood of Music City — and we all know that they’ve been hit as hard as any establishments during this year’s infernal ongoing pandemic. Luckily organizations like the Music Venue Alliance of Nashville are doing the work to keep these vital spaces alive while they’re unable to host in-person events. MVAN was central, in fact, in securing $2 million in CARES Act funds for small venues back in Nashville. Well, if you’re in that overlapping sweet spot in the Venn diagram of “Music Lovers” and “Golf Lovers,” you’ve got a great opportunity to scratch both itches. The Music City Live Golf Invitational, established by local rockers Mountains Like Wax, will take place Monday, Nov. 9, at Gaylord Springs Golf Links near the Grand Ole Opry, with all proceeds benefiting MVAN. Teams of one to four players are welcome, with entry fees set at $125 per player and the total number of participants capped at 72. If you, like me, can’t sink a putt to save your life, you can also sign up as a sponsor. Register for the invitational and find further details — including COVID-19 safety precautions — at mclgolfinvitational.com (registration deadline is Nov. 3). Then shag your balls and prepare to hit the links! 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at Gaylord Springs Golf Course, 18 Springhouse Lane D. PATRICK RODGERS
