'Drunk on a Plane' Singer Appointed to Airport Authority

And that's why we're thrilled to report that the Metro Council last night approved the the country star's appointment to the Metro Nashville Airport Authority. I know I wasn't sure it was real at first, either. But here's the proof from my colleague Stephen Elliot who was there in person.

Bentley is a licensed pilot himself and as "as a widely acclaimed country music artist, he brings unique experience and expertise regarding the entertainment industry, tourism and business," says Rob Wigington, MNAA president and CEO. Bentley will serve as the authority's Industry/Commerce/Finance representative. OK, sure!

I also once saw Dierks Bentley in the security line at the Nashville airport, so add that to the list of qualifications.
