Delightful, Harmless Outlaw Bound For Tennessee Slips His Captors

Christopher Daniel Gay, escape artist and criminal badass

Yes, I'm rooting for a criminal. I want him to get away, then resurface in a year or two after pulling another hilarious, innocuous stunt.

Christopher Daniel Gay, also known as "Little Houdini," a diminutive mastermind who will not be held by hand cuffs of any sort, escaped from a Coffee County squad car that was transporting him from Orlando to Coffee County, Tenn. for stealing a Wal-Mart semi-truck.

While the flat-footed deputy opened the car door so they could get a little grub at the local Waffle House in Kennesaw, GA, Gay slipped his cuffs and shackles, bolted and vanished into the Kennesaw State University campus. Police found neither hide nor hair from Gay. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, myriad strange rumors abound. Some say they saw him running naked down a path leading away from campus in an effort to foil K-9s.

Gay, who seems to have a penchant for stealing massive, unwieldy vehicles, is suspected to have stolen Crystal Gayle's tour bus after he slipped law enforcement transporting him from Texas to Alabama. He said it was because he wanted to see his dying mother. After he dumped the tour bus at the International Speedway in Lakeland, Fla., he stole the Wal-Mart truck. He's also been the subject of a Maxim article as well as a song titled, "The Ballad of Christopher Gay."
