Oh hey, it's those Bowling Green-bred, partially Nashvillian alt-rocking knuckleheads Cage the Elephant. CTE has been touring up a storm over the past 16 months or so in support of 2013's Melophobia, an album that your old pals
The Spin once said"seems to innately buck against the 'mainstream' label, stirring in weird, Stone Roses-like flourishes."
Well, one of the most straight-up cuts on Melophobia is "Cigarette Daydreams," an easy-grooving, jangly pop number that Cage the Elephant played on Conan last night. See a clip of the band's performance above. Noteworthy: O'Brien himself considered the performance "fantastic" and the guitar solo "killer," and the band gifted the Cone Man with a signed drum head.
