Remember Butthole, the rock outfit I called "the next band to inspire irate letters to the 'Ticked Off' section of The Belle Meade News" in this week's Scene? They've cooked up a fresh, just-under-two-minutes blast of punk ferocity called "Chillin' in the Brown," recorded with Ben "Spinks" Weber and apparently written about how much it sucks to accidentally ingest heroin in Manchester. I'm not sure if that's Manchester, U.K. or the one in Coffee County, but sounds like a pretty shitty experience, either way.
Speaking of which, Cassie Harner filmed and edited a promo vid for the song, featuring the band (but mostly their frontwoman and a fairly laid-back cat) in front of a green screen that turns brown while a bunch of brown things flash by: rye bread, chocolate pudding, mulch (no M&Ms, though) and some actual fecal matter. Check it out after the jump.
By the way, according to their Facebook profile, Butthole plays their last show of the year this Saturday, Dec. 5 at Babe Haus; ask a punk for directions.
