Guys. Please tell me you've listened to Rockpile's Seconds of Pleasure. It was the only proper full-length release from from the outfit — at least under the name Rockpile, as these musicians worked together frequently on solo releases by Rockpile frontmen Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe.
I even reviewed itback when I was listening to and reviewing a new-to-me record every day for a year. Why was I doing that again?
Get to the point, Rodgers! Right. The point is that local punk-country jet-setters Those Darlins — despite having recently lost a founding member — just announced that they'll release a 7-inch on March 27, and it will feature their tune "Mystic Mind" along with a cover of Rockpile's "Pet You and Hold You." You can go ahead and pre-order the 7-inch right here, and according to the Darlins, "'Pet You And Hold You' is our first song to be released with Scott Litt (REM, Patti Smith, Nirvana) on production duties. We’ll be recording an EP with him this April."
Those Darlins are also about to embark on a tour that will take them all over the U.S. and throughout Europe. Hear the Darlins' version of "Pet You and Hold You" via Soundcloud or below, and see all of their tour dates — and hear Rockpile's version of "Pet You" just, you know, for good measure — after the jump.
