Kelley Anderson Leaves Those Darlins

Posted By on Mon, Feb 27, 2012 at 10:57 AM

According to a recent post on Those Darlins' website, multi-instrumentalist and founding Darlin Kelley Anderson (nee Darlin) has left the band in order to "pursue other musical projects and professional ventures." In addition to her bassing, guitaring and vocaling with the Darlins, Anderson is also known as founder of the Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp and YEAH, and she intends to continue her work with those organizations. From Those Darlins' site:

With sadness, we must announce that Kelley Anderson has decided to leave “Those Darlins” in order to pursue other musical projects and professional ventures. We will miss Kelley but will follow her with excitement at her new website: Kelley promises to keep us updated on the Tenth Anniversary of The Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp in Murfreesboro this summer. It was Kelley’s hard work and dedication to the Southern Girls Rock And Roll Camp that brought us together in the first place.

Those Darlins will continue to move forward with a lot of exciting news in 2012. We will be recording an EP in May with producer Scott Litt (REM, Nirvana, Patti Smith) to be released this year and will resume touring in March.

Well, a Bummerino Metropolis, as Anderson's contributions no doubt had a lot to do with the critically lauded nature of last year's Screws Get Loose. But the world keeps turning, and folks venture on to greener pastures. Best of luck to both Anderson and the Darlins. Which reminds me, Darlins, are you guys now taking applications?

Tip of the hat to Steve Cross for noticing.
