Live set from STEVE AOKI at PLAY in Nashville. Video by The Midnight Socialite on his 2009 CAFFEINE AND CURIOSITY PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR. Sponsored by ROCKSTAR ENERGY.

As regular Cream readers know, Asian guys named Steve are totally awesome, so it's natural that I post this pick on Steve Aoki (even though I didn't write it). Here's Ryan Burleson:

I don’t know about you, but it’s been too long since I’ve had champagne sprayed on my person — or, better yet, forcibly poured down my throat. It’s spring break season, after all, so what else would my Panama City-reared self be consumed with? The dolphins at Gulf World? Not a chance. Fortunately, I’m in luck, as are the rest of you who need a defining event to mark the conclusion of winter: Steve Aoki, arguably the electronic music world’s version of tech playboy Sean Parker, will be manning the decks at Limelight tonight. And if the litany of online videos documenting Aoki sets around the world is any indication, the Limelight crowd can expect something far more thrilling than what the average electro-house DJ could conjure. Indeed, picture the sweaty, three-sheets-to-the-wind insouciance of a Girl Talk show, except with Top 40 mash-ups replaced by hyper-caffeinated, buzz-sawing bangers. This, while the man himself keeps the masses, um, “hydrated.”
