Man, the East Side is looking rough.
If you've been waiting around to check out Shy Guy, the shoegazin' sorta-mystery-men who made it to
Road to Bonnarooafter barely a year as a band, clear your schedule tonight: In an email, guitarist Brennan Walsh tells the Cream that this is Shy Guy's last show. It's always a bummer to see a group you like calling it a day, but Walsh confirms this isn't the last we'll hear from them: There are "a new name, new lineup and new songs" waiting in the wings.
And if it's gonna be a celebration of the life of Shy Guy, it'd be hard to find a better supporting lineup of rising locals: psych rockers Penicillin Baby, the monozygotic Kluge brothers' experimental dance outfit Body of Light (peep their new video) and super-dreamy garage-pop group Dogtooth. Look for it to kick off a little after 9 p.m., and bring along your buddy Abraham Lincoln (on the $5 bill, not the penny) to get you in the door. If it makes you feel better, you can say you're Abe's +1! On second thought, don't do that. But do check the Facebook event for updates. Stream Shy Guy's Dreams EP below.
