Saffire Restaurant in Franklin closed briefly last month for renovations, but has now reopened. Though most of the upgrades took place in the kitchen, diners will be able to tell a difference with the new lunch, brunch, and dinner menus, the first developed by chef Jason La Iacona, who moved to Saffire from sister restaurant The Southern earlier this year. Saffire is also hosting the sushi chef from Acme Feed & Seed on Friday nights for sushi specials. Acme's sushi menu was created and is overseen by Sam Katakura of the the late Sam’s Sushi.
To celebrate the new menu, Saffire is hosting a tasting dinner on Thursday, July 23, at 6:30 p.m. The dinner takes place in "The Blue Room" and includes five courses paired with cocktails. Tickets are $62 per person (plus fee).
If downtown Nashville and beer are more your thing than downtown Franklin and cocktails, another TomKats restaurant, The Southernaire, is hosting Summer Brew the following week, on July 30 at 7 p.m. This event features six courses paired with beers. The food and beer pairings will be prepared by The Southern chef Paul Brantley and TomKats' executive chef Matt Farley. Tickets for this event are $80 per person (plus fee).
