In May, the Americana Music Association dropped a stout list of artists slated to take over some 16 venues in Music City Sept. 15-20 for Americanafest 2015. Today, the AMA announced an addition 70 artists, expanding the bill to over 150 in total.Â
Among the lot are Canadian honky-tonk hero Daniel Romano, jaw-dropping mother-son duo Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear and scintillating, genre-defying songstress Lera Lynn. Many more established top-shelf artists have also been added to the marquee, including Nashville jewels Margo Price, Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale (a prime candidate for Mr. Americana if ever there was one; as usual, Lauderdale will host the Americana Awards Ceremony at the Ryman on Sept. 16, and Miller will lead the all-star house band).
The very top tier also includes a do-not-miss collaboration: Music patron and guitar savant Ry Cooder is performing with country-bluegrass legends Ricky Skaggs and Sharon White.Â
