Welp, Young Buck is in trouble with the law once again. The multi-platinum Nashville hip-hop star and former member of 50 Cent's G-Unit crew — who did an 18-month stint in a Mississippi federal prison for weapons and tax evasion convictions a few years back — was arrested Friday and charged with misdemeanor domestic assault and vandalism after allegedly threatening to burn down an ex-girlfriend's apartment.
According to a Davidson County Court affidavit obtained by the Scene (below), the 35-year-old rapper (real name David Darnell Brown) allegedly texted his ex on Wednesday and told her he was coming over to torch the apartment that she occupies with her three children. And show up uninvited he did, managing to kick down the front door before police arrived.
Despite tweeting a call to shoot "crooked ass cops" a few weeks back, Brown was taken into custody without incident and later released on a $5,000 bond. (That view of the police is echoed on a recent protest track recorded in the wake of the Alton Sterling and Philando Castile killings by police, and literally released during the subsequent attack on police officers in Dallas.)
Brown is still on probation from his prior convictions, meaning he could possibly return to prison if convicted on the latest charges. He is due back in Davidson County Court Aug. 1.
