Nashville-by-way-of-Bowling-Green rockers Cage the Elephant are among the many locals you'll be able to see at this year's Bonnaroo, which kicks off on Thursday. But before the Grammy-winning group heads down to Manchester, they're visiting New York City.
Monday night, somewhere around the time the Preds were tying up the Stanley Cup finals with an impressive 4-1 win, CtE stopped by NBC's Studio 8G to play "Too Late to Say Goodbye" on Late Night With Seth Meyers. Later this summer (exact date TBA), the band will release a live acoustic album titled Unpeeled, recorded during their spring tour (which stopped at the Ryman). Some of the acoustic arrangements include a string section, which also graced the very much electric full-band performance you can check out above.
A fun side note: CtE drummer Jared Champion will also be sitting in all week with The 8G Band (the show's house band), taking a guest slot previously occupied by the likes of The Black Keys' Patrick Carney and Tool's Danny Carey. Presumably, Champion will be back in Tennessee in time to join the band for their set on Bonnaroo's Which Stage at 10 p.m. Saturday night.
