We at Third Man Records have always believed that great things come out of restrictions. Artists being restricted from their audiences though? We’re not sure what greatness can come from that. We have a big empty blue room, cameras, internet access, and TONS of talented friends and family who are out of work, so we’re putting this all to use starting today at 12pm CT.
Join us on the Third Man Records Youtube channel today and every day we have a participating artist at 12:00 PM Central for the foreseeable future to watch and hear our favorite artists sharing whatever is inspiring them during this impossibly dystopian moment in time. Let us commiserate with you, lift your spirits, and feed your soul with the magic that only “live” music / poetry / puppet shows / some sort of human connection can provide.
Please be assured that we have fewer than 10 people in the Blue Room (and at TMR HQ in general), and everyone is staying more than 6 ft apart. We are including Venmo and Paypal handles for you to tip your entertainers — please give what you can.

*Update, March 23: Following Mayor John Cooper's stay-at-home order, TMR has suspended this series until further notice.
As pointed out by Scene music editor Stephen "Goose" Trageser yesterday, local artists from Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn to The Pink Spiders and beyond are filling feeds with streaming performances in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. It's a great way for folks practicing responsible social distancing to still get a fix of live music — and to support musicians while they're at it.
News comes along today that the folks at Third Man Records are getting in on the action as well. As you can see here — and via the embed above — TMR is kicking off its Third Man Public Access series today at noon with a performance by local pedal-steel wizard Luke Schneider. Say the Third Man folks:

Dig it! The black-and-yellow crew also assures us that there will be no more than 10 folks in the Blue Room during these performances, and that they'll keep the recommended distance of six feet apart. Tune in tomorrow at the same time for a performance from badass local country-rock boogie boys Teddy and the Rough Riders, and keep an eye on
this channelfor more updates.
