Toward the end of the Aughts, Donelson declared itself hip. While some may have snorted and jeered, others took a more curious and pragmatic approach and contributed to the Nashville neighborhood bringing out its inner hipness. Tracy and Marco Agiro opened their DIY spot Mirror Mirror Network in 2022, and with its creative collaboration offerings running the gamut from multimedia production to live events to funky weddings and beyond, it’s become a community staple. Sadly, their time at 2623 Lebanon Pike has come to an end. They’re looking for help to close the current chapter with a bang and give the next one a strong start.
To address the first goal, the Agiros have two more installments of their Mondaze Live series on tap, serving as benefits for the business’s fundraiser. Marco’s Ramones tribute Marco Blitz and the Brats plays on Monday, Aug. 17, with a special solo set of “softer” Ramones tunes by Country Westerns’ Joey Plunket. The Serpenteens perform Aug. 24, celebrating the release of their album Revolution on vinyl, with a bonus DJ set from the great Afrosheen. Doors open for both events at 7 p.m.
Regarding the second goal, there’s the aforementioned fundraiser, a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign. At the time of this writing, it’s nearing its goal of $6,500. The plan is to find a new, permanent space to set up the next iteration of Mirror Mirror Network.
While the campaign doesn’t offer any information about a new space, it is pretty thorough in outlining what they’ll use the money for. To wit:
The funds raised through this campaign will help us safely move and store our chapel installations, furnishings, wardrobe, props, instruments, and production equipment; cover the immediate costs of leaving our current location; continue serving our existing wedding, event, and production clients; produce temporary pop-ups, ceremonies, performances, and creative projects during the transition; maintain essential business operations while we relocate; and support the planning, preparation, and early development needed to establish our next home.
