Chances are good you've seen Kent Osborne around town this year — maybe performing at Spewfest IV, Fond Object's farewell party at Soft Junk or at Fort Houston's Fort Fest, and hopefully on the cover of our Summer Guide issue. Now, you can see the punk- and metal-schooled rapper in an intense music video for his single "Kick Rocks."
The track is an ominous and aggressive trap-style production, in which Osborne aggressively stakes out his territory. But it's not just outside forces he has to contend with, as he raps: “I just wonder wonder / Keeping up the thunder / Colder than the tundra / Never going under / Moshing out emotions / That fucking with me."
That constant stress can take a heavy toll. In the above video, directed by GaijinIsntPhysical, Osborne stomps around inside what appears to be a burned-out house, which might have been the site of a raucous show (seen in snippets intercut into the footage) the night before.
