Bermuda Triangle at The Basement East, 7/13/2017
When we caught the first show from supergroup-of-sorts Bermuda Triangle at The Basement East in July, the trio — which features Becca Mancari, Jesse Lafser and Alabama Shakes' Brittany Howard — told the crowd that the performance would "probably" be its last. Not so: It seems we haven't heard the last of BT.
This morning, NPR debuted Bermuda Triangle's "Rosey," and you can hear the song via the Soundcloud embed below. Originally released on Lafser's 2015 LP Raised on the Plains, "Rosey" is an aching, bittersweet song about the final throes of a romantic relationship. The trio's version is sparsely but beautifully arranged, featuring just acoustic guitar, three-part harmonies, upright bass and intermittent stretches of programmed drums. As The Spin put it back in July, it's "part old-time string band and part, um, electro-folk ensemble."
What's more, Bermuda Triangle will play a handful of shows in October, and you can see those here.
