It's been a little more than three years since St. Vincent's last LP, St. Vincent, but fans haven't been completely abandoned: Earlier in the spring, the guitar slayer also known as Annie Clark contributed a song to Sub Pop's
Bob's Burgers box setand
collaborated with John Legend and Zach Galifianakison behalf of Planned Parenthood. But details on her next proper record have been scarce. Today, she dropped a bomb by announcing a tour called Fear the Future, via the wacky press conference-spoofing video above.
Will this tour coincide with a new album? Will Galifianakis be there? Who knows! Clark relayed about as much information as Sean Spicer in the vid. Regardless, the show will be one worth seeing — when St. Vincent played Marathon Music Works in 2014, The Spin described the performance as "a marriage of music, lighting and choreography that left us gobsmacked."
The tour stops at the Ryman on Nov. 22. Tickets go on sale Fri, June 30 at 9 a.m. right here.
As with many artists these days, there's a VIP "enhanced" experience on offer. For the Nashville date, $149 gets you premium seating, a photo of you with St. Vincent's guitar, a pre-show screening of the St. Vincent-directed horror short "The Birthday Party," a signed tour poster and access to the merch table before the general admissions horde is let in.
