Alimentum Goes Monthly and Plans a Tour of Venice

Paulette Licitra seems to be everywhere lately. I was watching the midday show on channel $ last week, and there she was, doing a cooking segment. Then later in the show, she appeared with her husband Duane Spencer singing a song as a performing duet they call

Duette

. I don't know when she has time to do all this, in addition to her cooking classes at

Cucina Paradiso

, because earlier this year she ramped up to monthly distribution of Alimentum, the food-based literary journal she publishes.

The next issue will feature what Licitra calls "menu poems," which are usually odes to a favorite restaurant. I enjoy those each year and look forward to this batch. Submissions are closed for menu poems for 2013, but if you'd like to submit other poetry, fiction, nonfiction, book reviews, music or artwork about food, send your work to the website here.

In other Licitra news, she is leading a group of hungry travelers to Venice later this year from Sept. 18-25. She'll take six to eight people on a tour of the city's restaurants and markets, and Paulette will teach two cooking classes during the week. There will also be plenty of time for sightseeing, and Licitra will be happy to serve as tour organizer and Italian translator if you need assistance. For more details, email her at emailpaulette5@gmail.com and she'll send you the pricing and full schedule.
