After hanging up his jersey last year, former Titans quarterback Steve McNair is hanging his number on the nameplate of a new restaurant in North Nashville. Gridiron9, a casual quick-service eatery serving fried chicken, catfish, shrimp, burgers, grilled chicken and salads, is slated to open near TSU in mid-June.
McNair—along with business manager Raymond White and Red Carpet Bar & Lounge founder Robert Gaddy, is huddling up with Nuttin' But Wings team Walter Box and Derek Campbell to launch the restaurant, which could become the prototype for a chain. If the blue-and-white, McNair-themed concept works, the group plans to "multiply these by many around the city," Gaddy said.
Located at 2719 Jefferson St., Gridiron9 will serve lunch and dinner and Sunday brunch.
