Check Out Nashville's Healthy Restaurant Options at The Examiner

IMHO, we've got some excellent food writers here at Bites, and we seek to cover as many different aspects of Nashville dining as we can. Speaking just for myself, I know that I probably give short shrift to some of the healthier options around town. What can I say? I like smoked pork and fried food and put in the requisite hours at the YMCA as penance.

Luckily, there are some other good food bloggers in town who shine a spotlight on the greener, leafier establishments in Nashville. One of my favorites to check out is Niki Lynch's Nashville Healthy Restaurants Examiner. A practicing dietician, Niki doesn't just concentrate on vegetarian or vegan meals; she often looks for the healthiest options at more mainstream restaurants.

While I don't mind a visit to the Wild Cow every once and again, it's also nice to get some advice as to what the best options are at omnivore favorites like, say, The Yellow Porch. Niki reviews restaurants with a critical eye toward menus and flavors but also provides detailed nutritional data and dietary information on specific items.

As you prepare for the inevitable New Year's resolution to eat healthier, check Niki out for some good advice and motivation.
