Cameo, Whodini, Tevin Campbell, Glenn Jones and Jody Watley to Play 5th annual Music City Soul Food Festival, July 17 [Word Up]

Oh snap! I don’t know about y’all, but I sure as hell know where I’ll be on July 17: at Riverfront Park, showin’ off my rhythm as a dancer at the mutha-truckin’, new-jack swingin', fifth annual Music City Soul Food Festival — presented by 92Q.

Appearing to sonically complement the rough-and-tumble digestion of Southern cooking in the July heat are Cameo, Whodini, Tevin Campbell, Glenn Jones and Jody Watley. Kid ’n Play have yet to be announced as emcees (fingers crossed). If you’ve been dying for that perfect opportunity to bust out the old Hypercolor shirt, Cross Colours beanie, Hammer pants and mismatched pair of L.A. Gear for rump-shakin’ irony’s sake, this is it. Tickets are $30 for general admish and $50 VIP. I’d say definitely go for the VIP, but if you go at all, you’re already a VIP in my heart.
