Domino is happy to announce its participation in Record Store Day, releasing a number of special records exclusively through independent outlets on Saturday the 21st of April 2012.
This track is being released as a Record Store Day exclusive 7", backed with another Arctic Monkeys cover, "Love is a Laserquest".

Who here likes Arctic Monkeys? I have to admit: The title of their latest album, Suck It and See, inspired a bit of a "LOL, WUT? Whatever" response from me. Apparently not so for local indie-country chanteuse Caitlin Rose, however, as she appears to be something of a fan. On
Record Store Day(Saturday, April 21), Rose will release a 7-inch featuring Arctic Monkeys' "Piledriver Waltz" b/w "Love Is a Laserquest" via Domino Records — both tunes were originally featured on Suck It and See. As you can (suck it and) see above, Ms. Rose has just released a stellar rodeo-centric video for "Piledriver Waltz," in which the singer herself portrays a partially bummed-out rodeo clown in that Pagliacci sort of way. The video was directed and edited by Ryan Kendrick of
Digital Bohemia.
Rose's cover features the same drastic time-signature change as the original (here for Spotify users), but with a powerful dose of steel and that heavy-hearted vocal style Cato is known for. If you want to see the young lady in the flesh, and perhaps hear her renditions of the Monkeys tunes, she will perform at Vanderbilt's Rites of Spring (also Saturday, April 21).
