I try not to judge a comedian by their Twitter feed — so often the platform is a way for funny people to workshop half-baked ideas in bite-size chunks that pale in comparison to the final product. But Nashville’s own Laura Peek piqued (lol, sorry) my interest when a quick scroll through her timeline delivered a slew of “funny ’cause it’s true” quips about three of my favorite things: Target, farts and men being ridiculous. Turns out she’s even funnier onstage. Peek’s observational stand-up is based on some of the weirder shit that has happened in her life, from her Liz Lemon-esque moments involving olives and a toilet to the time a man called her boobs “stupid,” but meant it as a compliment. Tonight Peek teams up with fellow funny people Mary Jay Berger and Mikah Wyman to record their first comedy album — they each get 30 minutes, to be commemorated forever. Expect them to bring the best material they’ve got. MEGAN SELING
