Sure, square dancing is sentimental tosh, but that’s what life is. Maybe you’re moved to follow hokey cues because your friends are doing a decent job keeping you buoyed but their configuration could use some reshuffling, or because Breaking Bad broke down and it’s time to rise up from the couch. No matter the impetus, Charlie Bob’s is the destination. Square dancing occurs randomly, whenever the caller who left town rolls through. For pure fun it’s not to be missed. A humble dive on Dickerson Pike, Charlie Bob’s serves fare as unmemorable as you’d expect (chicken tenders, biscuits, watery coffee but plenty of it); it’s the bizarrely spirited square dancing that will light you up.
