The inside of the former Shintomi at 2184 Bandywood has been demolished, the fire permitting is under way and construction will begin soon on the Green Hills Taziki's.
The Green Hills Taziki's location will hold about 130 seats in its 3,324 square feet. Owner Andrew Sohr says liquor, beer and wine permits are in the works.
Taziki's, a small chain of about 15 restaurants with the original in Birmingham, serves fresh Greek and Mediterranean salads, sandwiches, gyros, and grilled and roasted meat platters in-house and to go. They also offer a very handy full meal for four each day to order and pick up.
If construction and inspection go smoothly, Sohr hopes to open in late February. The Green Hills location is the third in the Nashville area. The others are on West End and on Mallory Lane in Cool Springs.
