Nashville Originals Restaurant Week Starts Aug. 24

Start making plans now for next week's meals during Nashville Restaurant Week, which kicks off a week from today on Monday, Aug. 24. The event is the twice-yearly push from Nashville Originals to encourage folks to branch out and support local, independent restaurants. Nearly sixty restaurants are members of Nashville Originals — a coalition of Nashville’s independent restaurants in Davidson and Williamson counties — and most participate in restaurant week by offering prix-fixe menus at discounted prices and other specials.

New to Nashville Originals this year are Americano, Fenwick’s 300, Harvest at Homestead Manor and Noelle (recently reviewed in the Dining column). I've heard great things about all four, but have yet to visit any of them, so this would be a good time to try them out. Though I have to say that even though I've been many times, the most tempting menu already published for next week is from Suzy Wong's House of Yum. I kind of what to choose all three of my courses just from the dessert menu (git in mah belly, hibiscus crème brulée!).

Check out the other menus (more should be published as Restaurant Week approaches) and make plans and/or reservations. You can also follow the #EatLikeALocal hashtag on social media to see what others are having.
