The long-observed spot in Belle Meade Plaza is open for business now as
Ninki Japanese Bistro.
Reviews of the Owensboro location are uniformly good.As a menu connoisseur, I can say this one is fascinating and promising and slightly infuriating.
Promising: the photos of goodies like crab and avocado salad are luscious, and the interior looks sublimely posh and soothing. Also promising: Kagero-style ribeye (grilled on a hot river stone) with Hennessey flambe and roast duck breast.
Sushi lovers will be pleased with two pages of sushi from serious to silly. Funsters will go for the hibachi entrees. FTW, hibachi is offered at lunch, too, among a generous lot of other options, averaging around $11 (skewed upward by several $14 and $15 bento boxes).
