The Wild Cow

The owners of beloved local vegan and vegetarian restaurant The Wild Cow recently announced on Instagram that the East Side favorite will close on Dec. 30.

"With skyrocketing rent and food costs, the business is no longer sustainable," reads the post, which was published on Saturday night and attributed to co-owners Ryan Toll and Melanie and John Cochran. "We want to thank our community, our staff, and our customers for 14 years of supporting The Wild Cow. Please stop in before we go so we can thank you in person."

Chalkboard sign outside The Wild Cow reads: "Thank you for 14 amazing years! Our last day of business will be 12/30/23."

The Wild Cow opened in 2009, and in 2019 moved to its current home on Fatherland Street after years on Eastland Avenue. The Wild Cow's ownership also backed the launch of vegan restaurant Graze, which still operates near the original Eastland site. Ashley and Nick Davis became sole owners of Graze in 2020.

The Wild Cow has won multiple Best of Nashville awards over the years for its salad, sandwich and wrap options.
