Trader Joe's Is Looking at a Location on White Bridge Road in West Nashville

Officials with specialty grocer Trader Joe's are eyeing West Nashville’s Lion’s Head Village for what would be their second store in Nashville. The company has filed for an alcoholic beverage permit with the Metro Beer Permit Board.

The Monrovia, Calif.-based chain plans to lease the space previously sought by Fresh Market, near Target, the Nashville Business Journal reports.

A Trader Joe's spokeswoman told the NBJ that the effort is in the “initial stages.”

If the plan materializes, Trader Joe's will take the roughly 23,500-square-foot space that Fresh Market previously had slated, a former OfficeMax. Officials with Fresh Market announced their hopes for the store in 2016 but scrapped the plans in 2018.

Trader Joe's opened in Green Hills in 2008, in a popular (and somewhat congested) spot on Hillsboro Pike.

The Nashville office of Boyle Investment Co. is affiliated with the retail strip center’s owner, Memphis-based Lions Head Village Investors.
