Pinewood Social

The end of the year is in sight, and I’m sure there are many of us who are looking forward to the calendar flipping a digit. But before the full Santa Slide kicks in and work feels optional for the next two weeks, here are a couple of items for your attention.

First off, as usual, y’all showed up and showed out for Nashville Scene Taco Week! No tortilla was safe as Scene readers descended on the almost 40 participating restaurants to enjoy discounted taco specials and special tacos. In the end, the winners were:

First place: Family Tacos

Second place: Punk Wok

Third place: Federales Tequila & Tacos

But, of course, we know that we’re all winners during Taco Week! Congrats to the top three.

Second on the docket is an opportunity that is especially germane to Tennessee Vols fans as their beloved Orange and White comes to Nashville to trounce the Fighting Illini in the Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 30. The good folks at Pinewood Social have scored 10 tickets to a lower-level, midfield suite, and they are giving them away to one lucky winner who is sure to become the most popular person in his group chat immediately afterward.

From now until Dec. 27, all you have to do is visit Pinewood Social and fill out an entry form at the host stand. You can enter no more than once per day, but you still won’t make it through the whole menu if you drop in every day between now and Saturday. No purchase is necessary. Must be 18 or older to enter. They will draw a winner on Dec. 27. Note that tickets cannot be transferred or resold. IDs will be checked at the suite door to enforce this last point.

May fortune be forever in your favor!

Finally, if you don’t win the sweet suite, you can at least visit the Wesley Mortgage Club for the 2026 Our Kids Soup Sunday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8. Tickets are already on sale for this popular family event, which almost always sells out, so I wouldn’t dawdle.

Your ticket will entitle you to samples of a ridiculous number of delicious soups from local restaurants along with other family-friendly activities. Most importantly, the event benefits Our Kids, a critical local organization that provides medical evaluations and crisis counseling for children and families when there are concerns of child sexual abuse.
