Green Hills-based French bistro Table 3 Restaurant is closing after a nine-year run, with Detroit-style pizza eatery Emmy Squared to replace it.
Located at 3821 Green Hills Village Drive near The Mall at Green Hills, Table 3 will serve diners for the last time on Saturday, April 27. Sister operation The Wine Market will remain open.
Owners Wendy Burch and Elise Loehr — who opened the restaurant in 2010 and gave its interior a combination of contemporary and Old World design elements — posted the following on their Table 3 Instagram account:
We will cherish all the amazing friendships and memories that we created over the last decade. Thank you for your support. We would like to thank our team and staff members for working with us and being part of our family.
This will be the second Nashville location for Emmy Squared, and a June opening date is eyed. A small chain, Emmy Squared is headquartered in Brooklyn and opened in the Gulch in early 2018 in the space home originally to The 404 Kitchen (which would later move within the Gulch).
“We love our Gulch location and will continue to service our clients in that neighborhood, but we are also extremely excited to branch out into Green Hills, a spot with more parking and accessibility for our local clientele,” restaurateur and Emmy Squared partner Howard Greenstone said in a release. “At the end of the day, we want to be a part of the fabric of the Green Hills neighborhood and we are really excited to be there.”
The release did not note terms of Emmy Squared’s lease in what is called the Green Hills Office Building. Likewise, Emmy Squared officials did not note the cost to get operational.
Of note, the aunt and uncle of Emmy Squared chef and co-owner Matt Hyland have lived in Green Hills since the early 1970s.
Burch and Loehr, who once owned and operated the since-closed F. Scott's Restaurant and Jazz Bar (also in Green Hills), tell the Scene there are various factors for the closing but declined to specific. However, they noted some Table 3 employees are expected to work at Emmy Squared.
