This Saturday, July 11, the popsters at Pepsi are bringing their Pepsi Eats Fest to Nashville. The soft drink brand has been traveling the country, stopping at local restaurants that choose Pepsi for their fountains and offering free food to patrons.
For the Nashville stop of the tour, the brand is putting down stakes at Bringle’s Smoking Oasis at 4901 Centennial Blvd. in the Nations. The fun starts at 5 p.m. and runs until 9, and the first 100 guests will get a free pig roast sandwich. In addition to the free sammiches, Bringle’s will also offer complimentary brisket and street corn cups and sausage flights while supplies last.
The restaurant will sell Pepsi-infused cocktails and other fun-size treats like pastrami sliders, snackable ribs, walking pork mac-and-cheese and elote brisket bowls. Those of us of a certain age may recall (or even have participated in) The Pepsi Challenge from the 1970s, when the company put its cola head-to-head against the big red can out of Atlanta. The newest iteration of the challenge pits Pepsi Zero Sugar against Coke Zero Sugar and was the subject of a big Super Bowl commercial. Attendees can find out for themselves what they choose in a blind test.
Americana band Jason Scott and High Heat will provide the soundtrack for the evening, which is free to attend. Get there early for that free sandwich!
