Otaku Ramen chef and founder Sarah Gavigan has announced she will close Otaku's West Nashville location.Â
Located in Sylvan Supply at 4109 Charlotte Pike, the restaurant opened in the fall of 2020. The news follows the company having announced in December that it would cease operations at its East Nashville location in Highland Yards after 16 months in business. At the time, Gavigan said the company had made the "difficult decision to close and focus our energy on our other three units that are thriving."
The Nashville-based restaurant still operates locations in the Gulch at 1104 Division St. and at The Factory at Franklin.Â

"This isn’t about cutting back, it’s about doubling down — on what matters, on what lasts," Gavigan says in a press release.
"In a time when new concepts are flooding Nashville from other cities, tax rates and costs continue to rise, we’re choosing not to expand — we’re choosing to fortify. To stay local. To focus on our two core shops. To stay true to who we are and what got us here."
Otaku, named for a Japanese term for someone with all-consuming interests, first entered the Nashville market in 2015 with the Gulch location.Â
