After 16 months in East Nashville’s Highland Yards development, Otaku Ramen East is closing its doors. Â
Owner Sarah Gavigan confirms that while the East Side outpost is shuttering, Otaku’s three other locations — in West Nashville’s Sylvan Supply, in the Gulch and in the Factory at Franklin — are still in business.
“We made the difficult decision to close and focus our energy on our other three units that are thriving,” Gavigan tells the Scene.
Plus, Arnold Myint has big plans on the West Side
Otaku Ramen East opened in August 2023. The location featured a dedicated walk-up window for to-go pickup and delivery.
The burgeoning Highland Yards development on Douglas Avenue is also home to Kisser, Flora & Fauna Café, Garage Sale Vintage and Holiday Salon + Bathhouse, among other businesses. Future plans for the Otaku Ramen East space have not yet been announced.

Dear Otaku Ramen Guests,
After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close our East Nashville location. We are deeply grateful for the support you’ve shown us in this neighborhood. While this chapter is closing, we are excited to continue serving you at our other locations across Nashville.Â
Thank you for being part of the Otaku family. We look forward to welcoming you soon at Gulch, West & Franklin.
With gratitude,
Sarah & the entire Otaku Team
