One Year Post-Tornado, Edley’s Bar-B-Que Wants to 'Thank 'Que!'
Edley’s Bar-B-Que

With four locations around Nashville and in Chattanooga, Edley’s Bar-B-Que has quietly established a bit of an empire in the Tennessee 'que scene. While the Sylvan Park and 12South locations emerged from last year’s tornado relatively unscathed, the East Nashville outpost took a pretty good hit, although not nearly as bad as some other nearby businesses.

The Edley’s team realizes how lucky the company fared; they were able to reopen relatively quickly after the storm, and they also appreciate how their neighbors and the whole community came together to help each other with cleaning up and rebuilding after the tornado tore through the heart of Five Points. To commemorate this attitude of gratitude, they have decided to offer a free “Thank ‘Que” pork sandwich to anyone who wants one on Wednesday, March 3. They’ll be handing out the sandwiches in the parking lot at their East Nashville location from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., but you’re certainly welcome to add a few other dishes and some sides to an online order for pickup if you’d like to thank them for their thank you.

“While our East Nashville location was hit hard last year, many of our neighbors weren’t as fortunate and are still deep in the rebuilding process,” says Edley’s founder and CEO Will Newman in a statement. “This is certainly a somber week for Nashville, on top of a very difficult year, but it’s important to remember and be proud of how our entire community came together as one to get friends and neighbors back on their feet, and none of that would have been possible without our first responder community and neighbors who were eager to lend a hand.”

Edley’s will also be accepting onsite donations (cash or card) for Tennessee Action for Hospitality and the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Masks and social distancing are required under their COVID protocols, so do these kind people a solid and mask up.
