Nashville's Tailor Named One of <i>Bon Appétit</i>'s Hot 10 Restaurants

Tailor's Vivek Surti

Bon Appétit has ranked Tailor at No. 7 on its annual Hot 10 list of America’s best new restaurants.

Nashville-based restaurant industry veteran Vivek Surti opened Tailor, a South Asian American dinner club located in Germantown, in December.

"It is such a huge and unexpected honor … and we are humbled to be in the company of restaurants we admire and can't wait to visit," Surti said in a release. "Our recognition, however, is truly a testament to our entire Nashville community, and this is as much a great recognition for them as it is for us. There is so much more to this town that most people realize. We are proud to play a small role in the scene, and we are honored to represent our hometown on the national stage.”

Tailor is located in the former Southern Broom & Mop Co. building at 1300B Third Ave. N.

John Stephenson's Hathorne was also among the 50 nominees listed for Bon Appétit's best restaurants earlier this month. Bon Appétit deputy editor Julia Kramer visited more than 200 restaurants in 34 cities across America to determine the best new restaurants.

Tailor is the only Tennessee restaurant on the list.
