Another busy couple of weeks are coming up for food and drink lovers in Nashville. That’s just the way we like it!
First off are back-to-back special dinners at etch in Franklin and Nashville on Oct. 14 and 15, respectively. The guest of honor at the pair of dinners is High West Distillery — specifically, bottles of bourbon that were finished in Pedro Ximenz sherry casks and personally selected for etch and their sister restaurant etc. at the Park City, Utah, distillery earlier this year.
High West distiller Brandon O’Daniel will be on hand to discuss the whiskey and introduce cocktail pairings to accompany the menu, which ws put together by the talented etch kitchen crew.

If you’re looking for an interesting way to kick off Spooky Season, what better way could there be than actually sitting down for a drink with a real vampire? (Well, sorta.) Candice King played Caroline on The Vampire Diaries, and she’s paying a visit to the Oath & Fang pop-up at Hidden Bar in the Noelle on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 6 until 10 p.m.
The event will benefit the Community Resource Center, a vital local organization that partners with more than 100 groups to help provide hygiene supplies to those in need. In addition to collecting a portion of the proceeds from the evening, CRC will also accept donations at the event through QR codes at the table.Â

On Saturday, Oct. 18, chefs Sean Brock and Sam Jett are throwing a whole-hog barbecue at Audrey to celebrate the release of cultural historian and chef Michael Twitty’s latest book, Recipes From the American South.
The acclaimed Afroculinarian will join Brock and Jett to prepare a full meal of barbecue pork with sides and desserts inspired by the recipes in Twitty’s book. The lunch starts at noon, and tickets include a signed copy of Twity’s book. Hold your place at the table by heading to Resy today.

Finally, it’s almost time for the annual A Place at the Table fundraiser dinner at The Cafe at Thistle Farms. That's coming up on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m. Not just a fundraiser, this dinner is a chance for the community to visit the cafe and learn about Thistle Farm’s important mission of offering hospitality and healing to women who are survivors of trafficking, prostitution and addiction.
Some of Nashville’s top chefs, like Margot McCormack and Deb Paquette, have stepped up to cook at past events, and this year another rock star is leading the event. Chef Lisa Marie White is a James Beard-nominated pastry chef and the culinary director at Biscuit Love. She’ll be joining the culinary team at The Cafe at Thistle Farms under the guidance of their executive chef Eric Owings to create a menu that will feature elevated versions of the restaurant’s daily fare.
Buy your tickets at the event website and come ready to be inspired by the stories of recovery from these remarkable women.
